I started this message board/updated this web site because I was looking for information on how to buy more copies of The Redoubtable John Pack: Pioneer, Proselyter, Patriarch. You can now buy copies of it on our donation page. While looking for information on that book I found the existing John Pack Family Association web site here and wanted to help get more information on it. Also we named our son (middle name John) after John Pack. Here's my relation to John Pack.

Bradley Petersen Pack
Merrill Raymond Pack/Donna Jean Petersen
William Raymond Pack/Mercy Ethelin Lewis
Merrit Newton Pack/Nancy Amelia Tolbert, Merrit is a son of John Pack and Julia Ives
and then here's where it gets a little unusual: Nancy is Merrit's second cousin and they got married in Mexico, so her parents are William Allen Tolbert and Sarah Amelia Pack and Sarah is a daughter of John Pack and Nancy Aurelia Booth.

If you have info on your relation to John please post it, I look forward to finding more relatives and doing more work on my genealogy. I didn't do any genealogy until working on this web site - now it has become a bit of an obsession to get this web site going good and more into genealogy.

Thanks,

Brad

and here is where it gets a little unusual: Nancy is Merrit's half niece and they originally got married in the Mormon Colonies in Mexico - the only place they could get legally married. Hello, relatives everywhere! This is a wonderful bulletin board.

I like Brad's idea of giving our relationship to John and Julia Pack. Here's mine:

Janeen Pack Lambert/ David K. Lambert
Donald Elwood Pack/Jacqueline Schreiber
Elwood Ives Pack/Elva Robinson
Ward Eaton Pack, Jr./Eliza Jane Atwood
Ward Eaton Pack, Sr./Laura Cravath
John Pack/Julia Ives

My current research interest is on the Ives line, the women who marreid into the family --- Julia's mother, grandmothers, etc.

I hope the rest of you out there will tell us your interests so we can coordinate our work.

Here's my relationship to John Pack:

John Pack - Julia Ives
Erastus Frederick Pack Sr. - Eliza Lucinda Moody
Erastus Fredrick Pack Jr. - Josephine Robison
Fredrick Alonzo Pack Sr. - Helen Boothe
Fredrick Alonzo Pack Jr. <--- me - I go by Rick

Erastus Fredrick was of course, one of the alphabet kids. That means my first name was chosen by John himself!

My dad used to be very active in genealogy before he died, but I really haven't been (yet). I'm very impressed with this website. Looks like a great resource.

I am not related to John Pack, but all my children and grand children are. My wife Pamela Anne Parke descends from John Pack and Julia Ives. I am the family genealogy nut, and additionally Pam is not computer literate.

Pamela Anne Parke
John Wesley Parke and Barbara Anne Bremer
Ralph Parke and Alice Claire Pack (her photo as a two year old is posted on this web site as "Unknown Child")
Don Elbert Pack and Harriet Emily Malin
Don Carlos Pack and Samatha Jane Buckland
John Pack and Julia Ives

I will be sending photos that are not yet on the web site.
